It seems like yesterday I was photographing Miss Aubrey in her momma's belly and then as a newborn and now here she is one year old!

I was really excited to photograph Aubrey as a newborn. I adore newborns and photography so I thought it would be a fantastic fit for me. It was great and I loved it but I've since decided to leave newborns to those amazing local photographers who specialize in this area. I think in order to really become the photographer baby whisperer you have to specialize in this field and I could not give up my love for capturing other subjects I love in a lifestyle approach. I don't think I did too shabby for my first attempt at newborn photography. She is so adorable though I'm pretty sure there was no way I could go wrong. ;) I do love to capture in home lifestyle newborn sessions and the ever so special First 48 Sessions for newborns. Ok so back to the cake smash. It was a nice sunny warm October day. I was thinking of doing an indoor session to "contain" the chaos but well...last minute I couldn't do it. I love my natural light and had to change plans. We packed up and headed over to a local park where I found the perfect wooden fence backdrop for her Pumpkin and roses theme.
Aubrey really left me in awe...she left an impressive cake smash legacy behind. All who follow her have a lot to live up to lol. She sat and happily had her cake for a good 30 minutes at least. She enjoyed every last bite. Take a look at some of the highlights...

After the cake was good and destroyed Aubrey was washed up and off to the next location. We found some gorgeous golden Fall vineyards over in West Sonoma County that complimented her sweet purple outfit perfectly.
